and the Philadelphia Chorus
Between weeding and finding new tenors
(why are tenors always leaving for greener fields?),
between playing Missa this and Missa that,
filling cathedrals with believers and happy heathens,
between thinking about past musicals and new projects,
between looking after aging parents, calling Puerto Rico, Florida,
and calling DIOSA herself, praying for the music to arrive on time
and the singers to stay and grow, and not die before their time,
and between all this to-ing and fro-ing, even getting weeds pulled
and trees cut by tree removers (more money down the drain),
you took time out to feed my love birds from hell and the goldfish
(10 for $1.89, plus tax), watering my plants and making sure
that the mail and the house were in good shape while I went
on a pilgrimage to Vienna, getting Metronome Ticking performed,
and searching, all over the capital of Austria in the rain,
for the original Mozartkugel for the sweetest girls in town.
With love and thanks,
Henrik
